Rigid Vehicles
In 2003 HMS developed their own cab to body access whilst still maintaining the tilt cab option. The system gives the feel of a larger living area and also gives the possibility to carry more people in the vehicle without isolating the driver, the most important function is that you can still tilt the cab for servicing to date 10 systems have been installed.
HMS also designed and manufactured its own double bunk bunk dome to fit the roof of the MAN 7.5 ton range, it can be adapted to fit other vehicles if required (pictures in the "other" section of the web site).
We are now in a position to supply any size rigid at various stages of build from part build to the finished vehicle.
Stages include:
Side Skirts, Lockers, Side door with internal or external steps, cab to body access, windows, custom designed living, components, chassis alterations, paintwork etc
Rigid vehicles have now been supplied for all major forms of motorsport including British Super bikes, national and club level bikes, Rally, Race, Jet bike, Karting, Motor X, general support vehicles.
HMS are happy to start on new and second hand chassis or finish/upgrade your existing vehicle.
Designed in conjunction with Wild & Lyle Racing the truck has the carrying capacity of two bike with extensive living.
Original body length 22ft converted with 6ft workshop and 14ft living, Lowered side door with internal steps, side skirts and lockers, close cab to body skirts. Integral living to cab still maintaining the tilt cab option (new design for 2004).
Living Specification: Kitchen area c/w fitted be-spoke units, gas oven, hob & grill, 240 volt fridge, hot and cold water.
Upholstered seating in material of customers choice for 6 people that converts to make double bed. Separate bedroom that sleeps 3. Wash room with integrated shower , toilet & wash basin.
Power Source: 240 volt & 24 volt lighting, 1000 Watt inverter, mains hook up.

7.5 tonne Ford Cargo converted internally only by HMS for a karting team. Carrying capacity 4 karts and all spares required, Initially our contract was only to fit windows and side doors but as with many vehicles that customer bring for alterations the jobs grow and grow.
This was the first vehicle we designed for karting, from our experience gained on this build and further research we are now in a position to substantially improve on this design if required.
The more information and input the client can give the better the final vehicle can be for their specific form of motorsport.
